Hae Bo KIM

Hae-Bo Kim is Director of Advisory in the Policy and Strategy Division of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture (SFAC), where since 2004 he has promoted the city's cultural development through the management of policies, grants, cultural spaces, and festivals. With a background in Physics from the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Arts Management from Chugye University for the Arts, and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Seoul (UOS), he combines science, art, and urban sociology in his work. He currently teaches graduate courses at UOS on culture, technology, and cultural policies. A member of the Advisory Committee of the World Cities Culture Forum, his research addresses critical realism, neo-institutionalism, and the impact of technology on culture, published in journals such as The Journal of Cultural Policy. His studies analyze the legitimacy of cultural policies and the role of local foundations in Seoul, promoting a creative city that fuses tradition and modernity.
