She is a senior researcher at the Directorate of Historical Studies of the National Institute of Anthropology and History. She holds a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Mexican History from UNAM, both with honorable mention. In 1988 she received the Marcos Maus award for the best undergraduate thesis in History. In 2013 she obtained her doctorate in Art History, with an academic excellence scholarship from CONACYT and honorable mention, awarded by the Institute of Aesthetic Research at UNAM, for her thesis: "The Tin-Glazed Pottery of Puebla, from the Original Community of Potters to the Formation of the Guild, 1550-1653."
She was General Director of the National Fund for the Promotion of Handicrafts, appointed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador from 2018 to 2024. And President of the Ibero-American Handicrafts Program from 2019 to 2024.
In May 2025 she joined as a member of the Ibero-American Council of Handicrafts and Folk Art, IBEROARTE.
In June 2025 she joined as an Advisory Member of the Spanish foundation Continuadores de Arte Vivo Andalusí.
She is currently conducting the research project "Talavera from Puebla and Tlaxcala: Living History" for INAH.
