(Almoradí, Alicante, 1966) is a visual artist, theorist, and activist with nearly four decades of experience, based in Barcelona. A key figure in Net.art, he is the founder of Technologies To The People® and a historical member of irational.org. His artistic practice explores the intersections between postcapitalism, technology, and control, combining public space interventions, strategies of appropriation, and a critical use of digital media to expose the inequalities and power structures of contemporary society.
Many of his projects are grounded in collaborative research addressing issues such as censorship, corruption, technological exclusion, xenophobia, urbanism, and the cultural industries. His work has been presented in major international contexts such as documenta14 (Athens and Kassel), the 53rd Venice Biennale, Manifesta 4, the Kyiv Biennial, and at leading institutions including the Museo Reina Sofía, which in 2015 hosted a major retrospective curated by Manuel Borja-Villel.
Alongside his artistic career, Andújar has played a significant role in advocating for artists’ rights and in shaping cultural policy. He served as president of AAVC, was a board member of the Hangar Foundation, and contributed to the drafting of the Ministry of Culture’s Strategy for the Visual Arts as well as the current Strategic Plan for the Visual Arts.
