Daniel Lamarre

Daniel Lamarre, born in 1953 in Grand-Mère, Quebec, Canada, is the President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group since April 2025, after having held the same position from 2001 to 2021 and serving as Executive Vice President of the Board of Directors; with a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Ottawa (1976) and honorary doctorates from McGill and Ottawa, Lamarre transformed Cirque into a global leader in live entertainment, expanding it to five continents with iconic productions such as Love (based on The Beatles, the only live show authorized by the band, premiered in 2006 in Las Vegas), Michael Jackson ONE (premiered in 2013 in Las Vegas, created after negotiations with Michael Jackson's estate), O (the emblematic aquatic show at the Bellagio, Las Vegas, consolidated under his leadership), and Drawn to Life (in collaboration with Disney, premiered in 2021 at Disney Springs); he rescued the company from bankruptcy in 2020-2021 through negotiations with partners such as The Catalyst Capital Group, launched digital initiatives like "Cirque Connect" for young audiences, and is recognized for his unifying leadership, innovation, and social commitment with the One Drop Foundation and Cirque du Monde, receiving in 2019 the Distinguished Leadership Award for Corporate Citizenship from the Inter-American Dialogue.
