Isabel Villanueva

Since 2024, Isabel Villanueva (Pamplona, 1982) has assumed the strategic and content direction of BIME, the leading music industry meeting between Europe and Latin America, strengthening its focus on cultural innovation and research perspectives. She holds a PhD in Communication and dual degrees in Audiovisual Communication and Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Navarre. Her training includes an MBA in Music Industry from UCLA, a Master's in Cultural Management from the International University of Catalonia, a Postgraduate degree in Film Score Composition, and a Higher Degree in Music from the Liceo Conservatory of Barcelona. She is an Audiovisual Research Award winner from the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia and a Fulbright postdoctoral program recipient at UCLA's Herb Alpert School of Music. As a researcher at the intersection of music, performing arts, new technologies and audiences, with emphasis on digitalization and new audiences, she has accumulated more than 15 years of experience. She has been a tenured professor, Vice Dean of Communication and Director of Innovation and Quality at the International University of Catalonia, and director of the Master's in Artistic Management at ESMUC. Since 2019, she has worked as a consultant for international music companies and runs her own company, founded that year, focused on creativity and strategy for artists and organizations in the sector. In 2023, she co-founded Music Futures with Gigi Johnson, an annual meeting for creative solutions in the music sector, and participates in Intune Alliance, an EU project to transform music education towards 2030. She collaborates with UCLA's Center for Music Innovation on international projects and has been part of the Cultural Council of the Government of Navarre since 2024.
