Specialist in Creative and Cultural Industries. She was Head of the Creativity and Culture Unit in the Knowledge, Innovation and Communications sector of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
Before moving to the United States, she combined academia with the private sector.
At age 25, she founded and directed her own company, whose objective was to bring culture closer to people and to private company activities. She produced and published books on history and art; corporate, educational and cultural institutional histories; as well as art exhibitions and scripts. During that time, she obtained her doctorate in History from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and from Université Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne. Subsequently, she began a career as a university professor and researcher.
