En un momento de crisis global en el financiamiento para el desarrollo, la cultura sigue sin ocupar un lugar central en las estrategias económicas internacionales, a pesar de su gran potencial transformador.

La UNESCO, en Mondiacult 2022, reconoció la cultura como un bien público mundial y recomendó incluir como objetivo específico en la agenda de desarrollo posterior a 2030. La próxima conferencia, Mondiacult 2025 en Barcelona, reforzará la cooperación cultural global para enfrentar desafíos como los derechos culturales, el cambio climático, las nuevas tecnologías y la inteligencia artificial.

En Iberoamérica, la SEGIB impulsa desde 2021 la Estrategia de Cultura y Desarrollo Sostenible, y el Espacio Cultural Iberoamericano (activo desde 1991) ha convertido a la región en un actor clave en la agenda cultural internacional. Por su parte, la AECID de España fue pionera en integrar la cultura en la cooperación para el desarrollo y, en 2025, lanza una nueva estrategia centrada en derechos culturales y en los retos globales.

A nivel mundial, la IFACCA (2025, Seúl) destacó la necesidad de crear ecosistemas sostenibles que aumenten la inversión pública y fortalezcan los marcos regulatorios en apoyo de artistas y trabajadores culturales. Asimismo, la CAF (Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe) ha incorporado las economías creativas en su estrategia, financiando proyectos que promueven la diversidad cultural como motor de cohesión social, desarrollo económico e integración regional.

En este contexto surge el foro Sitio Futuro: Cultura y Financiamiento, camino hacia Mondiacult 2025, cuyo objetivo es enfrentar el “elefante en la sala”: el futuro del financiamiento cultural. El Foro busca proponer modelos innovadores y sostenibles que integren la cultura en los marcos de financiación para el desarrollo, en línea con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) y los consensos internacionales.

El acto de apertura oficial tendrá lugar el sábado 27 de septiembre a las 09:30 h en el

Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona (MACBA). Se adjunta el programa para más información.

ALOJAMIENTO

La organización ha efectuado la reserva de habitaciones para las noches del 26, 27 y 28 de septiembre, respectivamente en el siguiente hotel:

  • Meliá Barcelona Sarrià (Avinguda de Sarrià, 50, Barcelona).

Los gastos cubiertos incluyen alojamiento y desayuno. Otros posibles gastos, y su aseguramiento, serán de pago individual.

TRANSPORTE

Cada asistente deberá cubrir el coste del trayecto aeropuerto-hotel-aeropuerto.

Dada la proximidad del hotel de alojamiento a la sede de las reuniones, no se ha previsto transporte oficial hotel-sede.

TRANSPORTES Y COMUNICACIONES EN BARCELONA

El evento tendrá lugar en el centro de Barcelona:

Indicaciones para llegar al MACBA desde el hotel otel Meliá Barcelona Sarrià (Av. de Sarrià, 50):

A pie

  • La distancia es de unos 3 km (35–40 minutos andando).
  • Se puede ir caminando por la Av. Diagonal hacia el centro, siguiendo después Gran Via o Carrer de Pelai hasta llegar a la Plaça dels Àngels, donde está el museo.

En transporte público (metro)

  1. Desde el hotel se camina unos 8 minutos hasta la parada de Hospital Clínic (Línea 5, azul).
  2. Se toma el metro en dirección Vall d’Hebron y se baja en Diagonal.

3. En Diagonal se hace transbordo a la Línea 3 (verde), dirección Zona Universitària

→ Trinitat Nova, y se baja en Liceu.

  1. Desde Liceu son unos 7 minutos a pie hasta el MACBA, atravesando La Rambla y el Raval.

Otra ruta posible sería acercarte:

  1. Llegar en metro a Universitat (L1 o L2) o Catalunya (L1, L3, FGC, Renfe).

  1. Salir en dirección Sant Antoni.

  1. Caminar hasta la Plaça dels Àngels: allí verás primero el edificio del CCCB, y justo al lado, el MACBA (blanco, moderno, de Richard Meier).

Tiempo total aproximado: 25–30 minutos.

En autobús

    • Una opción es tomar la línea V9 en Av. de Sarrià (muy cerca del hotel) en dirección

Zona Franca.

Se baja en la parada Pl. Universitat, y desde ahí se camina unos 7–8 minutos hasta el MACBA.

Tiempo aproximado: 30–35 minutos, dependiendo del tráfico.

En taxi o VTC

    • El trayecto directo dura entre 10 y 15 minutos, dependiendo del tráfico.
    • El coste suele estar en torno a 10–15 €.

Aeropuerto de Barcelona – El Prat (BCN)

Situado a 15 km del centro de la ciudad. Opciones de transporte:

    • Taxi: Los taxis oficiales son negros y amarillos. El trayecto al centro tiene una tarifa aproximada de 30–35 €.
    • Aerobús: Servicio directo desde el aeropuerto (Terminal 1 y 2) hasta Plaza Catalunya. Frecuencia: cada 5-10 minutos. Duración: 35 minutos aprox. Precio: 6,75 € por trayecto.
    • Tren (Renfe R2 Nord): Conecta la Terminal 2 con estaciones como Sants, Passeig de Gràcia y Clot. Precio: 4,60 €.
    • Metro (L9 Sud): Conecta el aeropuerto con la ciudad. Transbordo necesario para llegar al centro (ej. estación Collblanc). Precio: 5,15 €.

Metro y Autobuses

La red de metro de Barcelona funciona de 5:00h a 00:00h (viernes hasta las 2:00h, sábados servicio ininterrumpido).

Un billete sencillo cuesta 2,55 €, aunque la tarjeta T-casual (11,35 €) permite 10 viajes en metro, bus y tren de cercanías (zona 1).

Ferrocarriles y Cercanías (Renfe Rodalies): Conectan el centro con municipios cercanos y puntos clave de la región.

En septiembre, Barcelona tiene un clima mediterráneo templado.

In today’s global crisis of development financing, culture continues to be overlooked in international economic strategies, despite its vast transformative potential.

At Mondiacult 2022, UNESCO recognized culture as a global public good and recommended its inclusion as a specific target in the post-2030 development agenda. The upcoming Mondiacult 2025 conference in Barcelona will strengthen global cultural cooperation to address pressing challenges such as cultural rights, climate change, new technologies, and artificial intelligence.

In Latin America, the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) has been promoting the Culture and Sustainable Development Strategy since 2021. Meanwhile, the Ibero-American Cultural Space (active since 1991) has made the region a key player in the international cultural agenda. Spain’s AECID was a pioneer in integrating culture into development cooperation, and in 2025, it will launch a new strategy centered on cultural rights and global challenges.

At the global level, IFACCA (Seoul, 2025) emphasized the need to build sustainable ecosystems that increase public investment and strengthen regulatory frameworks to support artists and cultural workers. Similarly, CAF (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean) has incorporated creative economies into its strategy, financing projects that promote cultural diversity as a driver of social cohesion, economic development, and regional integration.

Against this backdrop, the Future Site Forum: Culture and Financing, on the road to Mondiacult 2025, emerges to confront the “elephant in the room”: the future of cultural financing. The Forum aims to propose innovative and sustainable models that integrate culture into development financing frameworks, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and international agreements.

The official opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA).

To get from the Hotel Meliá Barcelona Sarrià (Av. de Sarrià, 50) to the venue, you can follow these directions:

On foot

    • The distance is about 3 km (35–40 minutes walking).
    • You can walk along Avinguda Diagonal towards the city center, then follow Gran Via or Carrer de Pelai until you reach Plaça dels Àngels, where the museum is located.

By public transport (metro)

  1. From the hotel, walk about 8 minutes to the Hospital Clínic metro station (Line 5, blue).
  2. Take the metro towards Vall d’Hebron and get off at Diagonal.
  3. At Diagonal, transfer to Line 3 (green), direction Trinitat Nova, and get off at

Liceu.

  1. From Liceu, it’s about a 7-minute walk to the MACBA, crossing La Rambla and entering the Raval neighborhood.

Approximate total time: 25–30 minutes.

Another possible route would be:

  1. Take the metro to Universitat (L1 or L2) or Catalunya (L1, L3, FGC, Renfe).
  2. Exit in the direction of Sant Antoni.
  3. Walk to Plaça dels Àngels: there you’ll first see the CCCB building, and right next to it, the MACBA (white, modern, designed by Richard Meier).

By bus

    • One option is to take the V9 line on Avinguda de Sarrià (very close to the hotel) towards Zona Franca.
    • Get off at Plaça Universitat, then walk about 7–8 minutes to the MACBA.

    • The direct ride takes around 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic.
